The City of Edmonton is seeking a passionate and innovative Engineer-in-Training (EIT) to play a vital role in shaping the future of our City. This is a crucial career opportunity to grow your expertise and contribute to building a more connected, sustainable, and accessible city for everyone.
As a key member of our Transportation Engineering team, you will work under the guidance of a Professional Engineer to be at the heart of the development process, ensuring required transportation upgrades support proposed development projects. You will be instrumental in assisting with the review and setting of conditions for a variety of applications, including development permit applications.
Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or Transportation Engineering
Must be registered as an Engineer in Training (EIT) with APEGA (in good standing) and working towards a Professional Engineer (P.Eng) designation. Registration with APEGA must be obtained prior to commencement of employment
Experience in land development, with a focus on transportation engineering and/or transportation planning

This position may be eligible for a hybrid work arrangement with the flexibility to work from both home and the worksite as per the Letter of Understanding between the City of Edmonton and Civic Service Union 52
This position is eligible for the EDO program (Earned Day Off)
The weekly hours of work for this position are currently under review and may change at a future time. Any changes will be made in accordance with the City of Edmonton/Civic Service Union 52 collective agreement and the incumbent will be notified in advance
Up to: 1 permanent full-time position and 1 temporary full-time position for up to 11 months
Hours of work: 40 hours per week, Monday - Friday
Salary: $35.60 - $43.271 (Hourly); $74,332.80 - $90,349.85 (Annually)
Valid Alberta Class 5 driver's licence (or provincial equivalent)
Applicants will be required to arrange their own transportation and where appropriate will be reimbursed in accordance with City of Edmonton policy. This may require the applicant to obtain business use auto insurance
