Job Title: Accounting Specialist/Bookkeeper

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Bookkeeper to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate records, processing transactions, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. This role requires strong analytical skills and a commitment to accuracy. Must be a U.S. citizen.

Key Responsibilities:

• Code and match bank transactions to current chart of account codes
• Process accounts payable and receivable transactions
• Process payroll
• Reconcile bank and credit card statements
• Prepare financial reports and summaries for management
• Assist with budgeting and forecasting activities
• Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and accounting principles
• Collaborate with other departments to support financial operations

Skills and Qualifications:

• Proven experience as a Bookkeeper or in a similar role
• Proficient in Quickbooks Online and Microsoft Office Suite. Paylocity a plus.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Experience in government contracting a plus
